What is 909 Broad Street?

It’s a high-quality Athens apartment community designed especially with University of Georgia students in mind. 909 Broad features a variety of spacious apartments and townhomes, plus a full set of community features such as a 24-hour fitness center, resort-style pool and attached parking garage, all just steps from campus and downtown.

Can I live with friends, or can you match me with roommates?

You can select your roommate(s), or you can apply on your own and we can match you with other students. Applicants answer a short list of lifestyle questions to help in the matching process.

What are per-person contracts?

Instead of requiring all roommates to sign a joint lease, each person at 909 Broad has their own individual contract, with one person per bedroom. This means you are only responsible for paying for yourself — not your roommates. Even if a roommate moves out or other bedrooms in your apartment are empty, you only pay the rate for your bedroom.

What is included in the rate?

Each resident at 909 Broad Street pays a flat rate that includes:

  • Attached garage parking (one space per bedroom)
  • Furnishings (limited availability option)
  • In-unit laundry
  • Community features – pool, fitness center, etc.

What size are the apartments?

The spacious accommodations at 909 Broad range from studio through 4-bedroom floorplans, with available private bedroom-bathroom suites. Two-story townhomes are also available in 3- and 4-bedroom floorplans.

Are the apartments furnished?

909 Broad Street offers a furniture package in select apartments, which includes a queen-sized bed, a storage dresser, desk and chair in each furnished bedroom, plus a sofa, chair, coffee table, end table, entertainment stand in the living room. Availability of the furniture package is limited. To see a sample of the furniture and other finishes, please visit our model residences.

When do the contracts start and end?

The standard term is August 13, 2021 to July 21, 2022, with payments made in 12 equal installments. Limited alternate dates are available; please inquire with our staff. Click here for a sample agreement.

Is a co-signer or financial guaranty required?

After a Housing Agreement is signed, each resident is required to secure their financial obligation in one of three ways: by providing a qualifying guarantor (often a parent); by pre-paying the final 2 installments; or by purchasing a third-party guaranty from our partner, Leap. In limited cases, we may also waive the requirement for a financial guaranty if a resident has sufficient income of their own.

Can I pay by credit card?

Yes. Residents can pay online 24 hours per day, by credit card or ACH electronic checking. 909 Broad also offers automatic payment by either credit card or checking account — just fill out one page, one time and payments will be made automatically. Convenience fees apply for credit card and debit card payments.

Will my financial aid cover charges at 909 Broad?

Your living costs at 909 Broad Street can be covered by financial aid, just like on-campus housing. Any available financial aid funds, after university charges are satisfied, are released to the student for non-institutional expenses, such as off-campus housing. These funds can be used to pay charges at 909 Broad. Normal payment deadlines will continue to apply.

Is 909 Broad open to non-students?

Nearly all the residents at 909 Broad are students at the University of Georgia. The per-person contracts are also designed with students in mind. Nonetheless, 909 Broad Street is an Equal Opportunity housing provider and welcomes applications from non-students. Family members are welcome as well, subject to occupancy limits. Because of the need to match student roommates, non-students must apply together with enough roommates to fill the desired residence.

What kind of safety and security are provided?

909 Broad Street is a secure-entry community with a monitored fire sprinkler system, plus [electronic apartment locks and] individually locking bedroom doors. Community courtesy patrols are provided at select times. Management staff are also on-site 24×7 and can be reached by a 24-hour phone number.

What are the policies on pets, smoking and guests?

909 Broad Street is pet-friendly, subject to limits on animals and breed. The community is smoke-free in all indoor and adjacent areas. Guests are welcome at all times, subject to the consent of roommates and security considerations. Overnight guests are welcome, with limits on the number of days and guests.

Can I park my vehicle at 909 Broad?

Each resident at 909 Broad receives free parking in the attached parking garage (one space per bedroom). Limited guest parking is also available.

What other transportation options will I have?

909 Broad Street is located just three blocks from the UGA campus and downtown Athens, within walking distance to school plus scores of local shops, restaurants and entertainment venues. Three Athens Transit bus routes also stop right across the street.
